Here is a new blog about getting healthy. I searched all over the net and could not find anything like this so I decided to create a blog about losing weight and getting healthy....
LOL
So who cares if there is actually 14.1 kazillion blogs out there about weight loss. This is mine and is "special" to me!
I am 38 years old, and will turn 39 in August. I'm calling this my "almost 40" birthday. My goal is to get as healthy as possible before I turn 40. I know it's crazy, but 40 has always been the magical age of having to eat right, exercise, get the dreaded colon check (ugh).
So, with blood work, salad and bad knees going through my mind, I decided to start tracking my goals and accomplishments as I near "almost 40".
Here's a little about me...
I have always worked out, weights and cardio, since I was a teenager. There have been times in my life where I have been very healthy and fit.
My problem is my diet. I still eat like a teenager. Burgers, fries, pizza, cookies and milk, etc.
And over the course of my 30's, I've come to realize that my metabolism has started to slip. I can't rely on working out and my metabolism to account for all the junk I eat.
Right now, I would call myself "fat healthy". I'm strong with the weights, I do high intensity interval cardio sessions 4 times a week and survive (sweat like a dog, but I live), but I consider myself to be chubby, big boned, jabba the hut'ish.
I just bought a new body fat/hydration level scale and plan to track my changes day over day and post about them here, schedule permitting.
In my past, I was one of those guys that never stepped on the scale. I used how my clothes fit, how I looked in the mirror and how I felt to decide if my health lifestyle was in check. With my metabolism sucking wind though, I've decided that I need to track and be able to make adjustments when things are not working.
So, that's me and where I'm at. This blog will be an insight to my successes and failures, my thoughts on my diet battles and my exercise windfalls.
It's interesting to me, hope it is to you as well.
